During the wedding, my husband pushed me into an ice-cold fountain while bursting out laughing: I couldn’t take it, and I did something I absolutely do not regret… 😢😢
It was the day I had dreamed of since childhood. Everything — down to the last napkin on the table — had been carefully planned. The immaculate white dress, the shining hairstyle, the perfect makeup, the delicate bouquet in my hands — I felt like the heroine of my own fairy tale. We had just exchanged our rings, and the room was filled with applause. The wedding was going perfectly.

In the restaurant courtyard, there was a small fountain — an original decorative idea. The water was clear and fresh, gently murmuring, adding a touch of summer elegance. I had even thought it would make a beautiful backdrop for the photos.
When the moment came to cut the cake, all the guests gathered around us with their phones. There were shouts of “Kiss!”, laughter, music. I took the knife, my husband placed his hand over mine — and we began cutting the first slice. That’s when he suddenly lifted me into his arms.
I smiled at first, thinking he wanted to carry me in a romantic way. But in a second, I realized: he wasn’t carrying me to the table, nor to the dance floor, but… toward the fountain.
I didn’t even have time to scream. In an instant, my dress clung to my body, my shoes were soaked, my hair streamed down my face, my makeup had run. The water was icy cold, despite the summer heat. The guests froze. Some stifled a laugh, others gasped.
And him… he laughed. Loudly, genuinely. To him, it was funny.
But not to me. It was hurtful, humiliating.
I had prepared for this day for months. The dress had cost me almost six months’ salary. Makeup, hairstyle — everything was perfect. I wanted this day to remain magical. And there I was, in the icy water, drenched, confused, and humiliated.
I climbed out of the fountain shivering, completely soaked. Tears mixed with the drops of water on my cheeks. My husband was still laughing, saying to his friends: “That was funny, wasn’t it?”
But me, I didn’t feel like laughing anymore.
So I couldn’t take it, and I did something I don’t regret at all. I’m sharing my story in the first comment and I hope for your support. 😢😢
I walked slowly toward him, looking straight into his joyful eyes.
— “Oh, you think that’s funny?”
And I threw the rest of the wedding cake right in his face. The guests gasped.
He went silent.
— “Now that you’ve been humiliated too, we’re even.”
— “Thank you for showing me your true face from day one. I won’t have to waste years to find out.”
The divorce is set for tomorrow.
